As the Technology & Cyber Business Risk & Controls Executive at First Citizens Bank, Shola leads the first line of defense risk function responsible for safeguarding the organization’s technology, operations and cyber landscape.ÌýShola partners closely with senior executives to shape and execute risk strategies aligned to corporate objectives and regulatory expectations, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed proactively across all technology, operations and cyber domains. Ìý His role includes advising on risk considerations for business initiatives, managing regulatory engagements, and presenting complex risk issues and mitigation strategies to executive and board-level stakeholders.
Key leadership contributions:
Shola has more than 31 years of experience in the financial services industry. He holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Third Party Risk and Certified Information Systems Security Professional.ÌýShola graduated from Boston College with a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Policy & Governance in 2019 and had previously taught at Brown University and currently teaches at Boston College Law School. In addition to working at First Citizens Bank and teaching at 91µÎµÎ Law,ÌýShola is a member of the President’s Advisory Council at Mentor Rhode Island.
